BINUS University Gelar Konferensi Internasional AI Bersama Université Paris-Saclay and Institut Français d’Indonésie
School of Computer Science (SoCS) BINUS University menyelenggarakan konferensi tentang kecerdasan buatan bertajuk “The AI Revolution: Technological Frontiers and Redefining Learning in Higher Education” pada Senin, 27 April 2026. Bertempat di Kampus BINUS Alam Sutera, acara ini dilaksanakan secara hybrid dan dihadiri oleh lebih dari 200 peserta baik secara luring maupun daring. Konferensi ini diselenggarakan melalui kolaborasi dengan Université Paris-Saclay, DATAIA Institute, serta Kedutaan Besar Prancis di Indonesia, dan dibuka dengan sambutan dari Andry Chowanda, Ph.D., Head of Computer Science Department-Greater Jakarta, BINUS University.
Konferensi diawali dengan sesi presentasi oleh Gema Pratama, Deputy Attaché of University Cooperation di Kedutaan Besar Prancis di Indonesia. Melalui materi berjudul “Study in France: LPDP Special Program with Paris-Saclay”, sesi ini mengenalkan kepada mahasiswa mengenai peluang studi pascasarjana di Prancis, dengan fokus khusus pada skema beasiswa LPDP yang tersedia melalui kemitraan dengan Université Paris-Saclay. Presentasi tersebut memberikan panduan praktis mengenai jalur akademik internasional dan prospek pengembangan karier global, serta memberikan wawasan konkrit bagi para peserta untuk melanjutkan pendidikan tinggi di luar negeri.

Sesi pemaparan utama disampaikan oleh Frédéric Pascal, Director of the DATAIA Institute sekaligus Vice-President of Artificial Intelligence di Université Paris-Saclay. Pemaparannya memberikan gambaran komprehensif mengenai lanskap generative AI saat ini, yang mencakup konsep-konsep dasar, aplikasi praktis di berbagai industri dan pendidikan, serta tantangan utama yang menyertai adopsinya. Prof. Pascal juga membahas dimensi krusial dari pengembangan AI termasuk etika, keamanan data, dan kesiapan sumber daya manusia, sekaligus menguraikan trajektori masa depan AI dalam jangka pendek maupun jangka panjang.
Konferensi ini turut dihadiri oleh beberapa delegasi dari Kedutaan Besar Prancis, antara lain Julien Bourgeois (Attaché for Science and Technology), Antoine Bricout (Attaché of University and Education Cooperation), Cathrien Tobing (Deputy Attaché of Education Cooperation), dan Floriane Pous (Project Officer of Education Cooperation). Setelah sesi utama, pertemuan tertutup diadakan antara delegasi Prancis dan perwakilan dari BINUS University untuk menjajaki potensi peluang kolaborasi, termasuk pertukaran pedagogis serta diskusi akademik lebih lanjut — sebuah langkah menjanjikan dalam memperdalam kemitraan akademik internasional institusi.

BINUS University Hosts AI Conference in Partnership with Université Paris-Saclay and Institut Français d’Indonésie
The School of Computer Science (SoCS) at BINUS University hosted a Conference on Artificial Intelligence titled The AI Revolution: Technological Frontiers and Redefining Learning in Higher Education on Monday, April 27, 2026. Held at Room B0201, 2nd Floor, BINUS Alam Sutera Campus, from 3.00 to 5.00 PM, the event was conducted in a hybrid format and attended by more than 200 participants both onsite and online. The conference was organized in collaboration with Université Paris-Saclay, the DATAIA Institute, and the French Embassy in Indonesia, and was opened with a welcoming address by Andry Chowanda, Ph.D, Head of the Computer Science Department, School of Computer Science, BINUS University.
The conference opened with a presentation session by Gema Pratama, Deputy Attaché of University Cooperation at the French Embassy in Indonesia. Under the title Study in France: LPDP Special Program with Paris-Saclay, the session introduced students to postgraduate study opportunities in France, with a particular focus on the LPDP scholarship scheme available in partnership with Université Paris-Saclay. The presentation offered practical guidance on international academic pathways and global career development prospects, providing attendees with actionable insights into pursuing graduate education abroad.
The keynote address was delivered by Frédéric Pascal, Director of the DATAIA Institute and Vice-President of Artificial Intelligence at Université Paris-Saclay. His talk offered a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of generative AI, covering foundational concepts, practical applications across industry and education, and the key challenges that accompany its adoption. Prof. Pascal also addressed critical dimensions of AI development including ethics, data security, and human resource readiness, while outlining the trajectory of AI in the near and long-term future. The conference was further enriched by the presence of several delegates from the French Embassy, including Julien Bourgeois, Attaché for Science and Technology; Antoine Bricout, Attaché of University and Education Cooperation; Cathrien Tobing, Deputy Attaché of Education Cooperation; and Floriane Pous, Project Officer of Education Cooperation. Following the main sessions, a closed meeting was held between the French delegation and representatives from BINUS University to explore potential collaboration opportunities, including pedagogical exchanges and further academic discussions — a promising step toward deepening the institution’s international academic partnerships.
