RF Online Classic – Good Time for a Nostalgia
I used to play a lots of Online Games during Elementary School and Junior High School. Rising Force (RF) online, was one of them. You know, I hadn’t even graduated from elementary school when a friend of mine introduced this fun and appealing online game to me.
Aside from RF Online released by LYTO Game Indonesia, I also played a couple of Private Servers RF. I don’t even remember what they are, I believe one of them is called RF JUST. The last time I remember catching myself immersing myself in this game was on my Sophomore year on High School.
Recently LYTO Game Indonesia introduced a newly opened RF Online called RF Classic. The term Classic literally means classic. This means no Level 65, no relic weapons (Man Eater, Vengeance, Cerberus, etc), or other over-powered stuffs that I don’t even recognize.
As you may have already known, Rising Force online is all about a big conflict revolving around 3 Races. One is called Bellato Union, one is called Holy Alliance Cora, and last but not least is called Accretia Empire.
This online game has a never-ending war, 3 times a day. Once at around 6 am, 2 pm and 10 pm. The three races gathers their skills and capabilities to destroy each other’s chip, taking control of Holy Stone Keeper.
As many of other RPG’s (or MMORPG to be precise), this game contains tons of things to comprehend. Potions, Talics, Weapons, Monsters, Maps, Techniques, Counters, Upgrades, Crafting, and the most complicated thing for me is PT. PT is how good is your character at some certain points such as defends, shields, skills, forces / magic, range skill, close combats, etc. You cannot use a Level 45 Bow unless your character’s range skill reaches certain point. Personally this makes the game very trouble some for me, but it’s probably one of the reasons why this game is fun to play.
At the first couple of hours of gameplay, most of your quests are around your race’s quarter. It’s safe and no different-race-players will ever disturb your farms
Things get a little bit tricky when you reach your twenties. You’ll need to level your character up in a non-safe places. The worst thing to know is : you are the easiest target. A Level 35+ character can one shot you to death.
The game is still fun, despite it’s age. Well obviously you can’t compare this with triple A games such as The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Watch Dogs or anything similar.
But as obvious as it may sound, the sole purpose of re-playing this game is to feel the real nostalgic.
I immediately remember the old days on Elementary when I had really nothing to do. This game gave me true fun on the old days. As personally I even spent some hundred thousand IDR to buy stuffs in this game and it’s pretty much normal.
As silly as it may sound, I don’t think I’m gonna last long with this game. In a not-so-long time, I will probably get bored, since yeah, even if I have never played this game to its maximum potential, I just know what’s going to happen. I will farm at this place after I reach this level, then there, and so on.
One final point, before I end this short review, I really recommend anyone reading this to play this game if you have a couple of free time. It’s different with the old. You don’t go for Level 45 and Win Wars, you just need to enjoy the feels. You know, this RF Music Theme, actually found a good place in my mind. Well at least that’s for me. This game has various things to think, just like how most RPG’s are. Re-play it, the old game!
